What Forage collects
Last updated 14 August 2026.
Nothing remote
The free extension does not send page content, titles, URLs, or usage events to Laurel or to any analytics vendor. There is no account. There are no trackers on this site beyond what your browser does on its own.
What stays on your machine
- The clip is built in the active tab and copied to your clipboard.
- Options (format, include links/images, a future license key, an optional webhook URL) are stored in
chrome.storage.local.
Permissions
Forage asks for activeTab, scripting, clipboardWrite, and storage. It does not request <all_urls> or site-wide host permissions. It only reads a tab after you click the icon.
Pro webhook (not live)
When Pro ships, a webhook you configure may receive the JSON clip you already copied. That is opt-in and pointed at a URL you choose. Checkout is not live yet.
